The JAC Huaxianzi is an all-electric micro car produced by JAC Yiwei, the new energy vehicle brand under JAC Group, primarily targeting young urbanites and the second-car family commuter market. The model's lineage traces back to the JAC iEV6E introduced in 2017. Following subsequent brand restructuring, the model was marketed as the "Sehol E10X" before being rebranded as the "Sehol Huaxianzi". With the official launch of the JAC Yiwei brand in April 2023, the model was formally integrated into the JAC Yiwei line-up in June 2024 as the "JAC Yiwei Huaxianzi Zhi'ai Edition", with all emblems updated from the Sehol badge to the "JAC" logo. As of June 2026, the Huaxianzi range is spearheaded by the 2024 Zhi'ai Edition, available in two variants—Lite and Air—with official guide prices of RM59,900 and RM65,900, respectively. Positioned as a 5-door, 5-seater urban commuter, the Huaxianzi highlights its oriental aesthetic styling, class-leading smart cockpit, and zero-thermal-diffusion honeycomb battery technology as its key selling points.

Design Language
The Huaxianzi Zhi'ai Edition measures 3,650 mm in length, 1,670 mm in width, and 1,540 mm in height, with a 2,390 mm wheelbase and a kerb weight of 1,100 kg. The exterior styling blends oriental colour aesthetics with Bauhaus minimalism; the front fascia features a signature EV closed-off grille, with black trim linking the willow-leaf-shaped headlamps on both sides for a sharp, expressive look. The lower bumper integrates honeycomb mesh air intakes bordered by U-shaped black trim, enhancing front-end depth. At the rear, distinctive square-patterned "Hui"-style full-width tail lights offer high visual recognition when lit. Four traditional-inspired body colours are available: Bamboo Green, Wisteria Purple, Snow White, and Light Ink, complemented by three floral-inspired wheel rim/cover designs: Kaffir Lily, Four-leaf Clover, and Redbud.
The interior retains the minimalist design seen on the Sehol Huaxianzi, featuring white accent panels and rose gold trim across the centre console to create a warm and contemporary ambience. The steering wheel and drive selector utilize a column-mounted stalk design, with the steering wheel boss bearing the updated "JAC" emblem. Tailored specifically for female drivers, the "Bulgari Goddess Package" introduces a dual-tier floating centre console: the upper tier doubles as a vanity station with an integrated wireless charging pad, while the open lower tier offers practical storage for personal belongings. Seating-wise, the Lite variant is fitted with fabric one-piece sports seats, while the Air variant steps up to synthetic leather upholstery.
Powertrain and Performance
In terms of powertrain, the Huaxianzi Zhi'ai Edition is driven by a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor delivering a maximum output of 36 kW (49 hp) and 110 N·m of peak torque, with a top speed rated at no less than 102 km/h. Benefiting from instantaneous electric torque delivery, the car provides brisk off-the-line and low-to-mid-speed acceleration ideal for city traffic, though mid-to-high-speed roll-on acceleration is relatively modest, consistent with its urban runabout remit. Range is supported by a 30.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, achieving a CLTC pure electric driving range of up to 301 km. Charging options include DC fast charging and AC normal charging: on DC fast charging, replenishing from 30% to 80% takes approximately 0.7 hours (42 minutes), while a full AC charge takes around 10.5 hours. The battery pack adopts zero-thermal-diffusion honeycomb technology featuring fourfold protection—anti-scratch, anti-collision, waterproof, and anti-internal short circuit—to significantly reduce the risk of thermal runaway.
Chassis and Handling
Under the skin, the Huaxianzi utilizes a front-wheel-drive layout with MacPherson strut independent front suspension and a torsion beam non-independent rear suspension, a standard and reliable setup for micro cars in this class. Braking is handled by front ventilated discs and rear solid discs, paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). The tyre size is specified at 165/65 R14. The steering system features Electric Power Steering (EPS) for light and effortless manoeuvring. Chassis tuning shares its heritage with the Volkswagen Golf engineering team, delivering a well-judged balance between ride comfort and driving stability. The vehicle provides three selectable drive modes—Standard, Eco, and Long Range—along with an intelligent regenerative braking system that allows drivers to adjust according to road conditions.
Cockpit and Equipment
Smart cockpit technology is one of the Huaxianzi's standout attributes. The interior is equipped with a 12.8-inch floating 1080P touchscreen infotainment display—comparable in size to a full-sized iPad Pro—alongside a full digital instrument cluster and a steering column-mounted gear selector akin to premium continental marques. The infotainment system is powered by a high-performance hexa-core CPU paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth operation with support for 4G telematics, FOTA over-the-air updates, and smartphone remote app control (including remote air conditioning and door lock functions). An iFlytek AI voice assistant comes standard across the range, offering full-scenario voice control for multimedia, navigation, and climate settings. The class-exclusive "AI Bestie" personal voice assistant supports customizable avatars and full continuous voice interaction with barge-in capability. In terms of comfort features, the Air variant adds keyless entry, wireless phone charging, and a 360-degree surround-view camera over the Lite variant.
Safety and Driver Assistance
On the safety front, the Huaxianzi is engineered with a high-strength cage-type body shell containing 53.8% high-strength steel, reinforced by dual high-strength front and rear crash beams for enhanced collision protection. Passive safety equipment includes standard dual front airbags, three-point seatbelts for all front and rear occupants, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS alert) across the entire range. Active safety systems come standard with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Electric Hill Assist (EHA). Driver assistance features include cruise control, a reverse camera (upgraded to a 360-degree panoramic camera on the Air variant), an electronic parking brake, and Auto Hold. Overall driver assistance operates at a basic Level 0 standard, prioritizing everyday parking ease and urban driving convenience without high-level advanced driving assistance systems.
Market Performance and Outlook
The Huaxianzi series originated from the Sehol E10X/Huaxianzi, which established a strong foothold in the A00-segment; its practical 5-door, 5-seater configuration offers distinct functional advantages over 2-door, 4-seater micro rivals in the same price tier, such as the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV. In the fiercely competitive RM50,000 to RM70,000 EV micro car segment, the Huaxianzi established solid competitive ground with its generous cabin space, high-tech cockpit, and cellular battery safety technology. However, under pressure from aggressive pricing on emerging A00/A0-segment models like the BYD Seagull, Huaxianzi sales have trended downward in recent years: total 2025 sales stood at roughly 2,673 units, with peak monthly volume remaining under 1,000 units over a six-month period, reflecting subdued overall market share. Nevertheless, as an integral product retained during JAC Group's brand transition from Sehol to JAC Yiwei, the Huaxianzi joins the Yiwei 3 Zhi'ai Edition to form the "Zhi'ai Twins" line-up spanning the RM50,000 to RM120,000 urban commuter market, continuing to serve a strategic role in JAC Yiwei's entry-level EV portfolio.
